Introduction

I was craving and BBQ burger and didn't want all the calories so this was my creation. It's my first attempt at a burger and even my DS (20 mos.) ate it and said "num num". So guess it's gotta be OK. Ingredients

    *Jennie-O Extra Lean Ground Turkey, 20 oz
    1 Egg
    1 Tbsp. Bread Crumbs
    Quick Oats (Just enough to bring mixture together)
    1 tsp. Olive Oil
    Peppers, sweet, red, raw, sliced, 1 cup
    2 Tbsp. Shallots diced finely
    2 tsp garlic
    1 tsp. McCormick GrillMates Montreal Steak Seasoning (reduced sodium)


    Mop Sauce:
    1/3 C. Heinz Ketchup
    1/4 C. Cider Vinegar
    Dash Liquid Smoke (optional)
    2 Tbsp. Molasses
    2 tsp. Worcestershire Sauce


    Wonder Light-Reduced Calorie Hamburger Buns, 1 serving
    1 strip Jennie-O Turkey Bacon (Extra Lean)
    1 slice- Kraft 2% Deli-Deluxe American Cheese Slices (optional)

Directions

1. Heat olive oil in small pan. Sautee Red pepper, onion, mushrooms and garlic until tender (but still crisp)

2. Heat grill.

3. Mix together the turkey, oats, bread crumbs, cooled sauteed veggies, montreal seasoning and egg. Make into 6 patties.

4. While burgers are cooking, cook bacon and mix together ingredients for Mop Sauce, let simmer. When burgers are done, top with 1 slice of cheese.

5. Take bun and put 1 turkey burger, 1 slice of bacon (cut in half) and 1 Tbsp. mop sauce. Top with lettuce and tomato if desired!

Tip:
*I think these would also be good if you had a slice of grilled pineapple on the burger as well.
*Play around with different veggies added to the burger.
*Be creative!!

Serving size is 1 burger.
