Introduction

Ingredients

    3 cans (28 oz each) crushed tomatoes
    1 can (6oz) tomato paste
    4 oz water (stir in paste can to get any residue)
    2 cloves garlic, minced
    1 medium onion, chopped
    1 T sugar (cuts the acidity of tomatoes)
    1 t basil
    2 t Italian Seasoning
    1/2 t pepper
    Salt to taste

    Add/reduce spices to taste.


Directions

In large pot on medium-high sweat the onion and garlic until onions are transparent.
Add remaining ingredients, turn up heat, and bring to boil.
Reduce heat to low and simmer uncovered until sauce is thick (1-2 hours). Stir occasionally.

Makes 10 1-cup servings
