A delicious chili with chickpeas. A delicious chili with chickpeas.

    2 Tbsp olive oil
    1 cup chopped onion
    2 medium carrots, peeled and finely diced
    2 medium stalks celery, finely diced
    1 lb lean ground turkey
    14oz can chickpeas (AKA garbanzo beans), drained
    14oz can red kidney beans, rinsed and drained
    14oz can diced tomatoes
    28oz chicken broth
    4oz can diced green chiles
    4 tsp chili powder
    1 tsp minced garlic
    2 Tbsp tomato paste
    1 Tbsp brown sugar
    1 Tbsp cumin
    1 tsp onion powder
    Lime wedges


Heat olive oil in a Dutch oven over medium heat. Add onions, carrots and celery. Cook until tender, about 5 minutes. Add turkey and cook until browned, stirring frequently to crumble.

Add all remaining ingredients except lime wedges. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat, and simmer 1-2 hours. Serve with lime wedges.
