    * *Whole Wheat Flour, 1 cup (remove)
    * *Organic All-Purpose White Flour, 1 cup (remove)
    * Cinnamon, ground, 1 tsp (remove)
    * Baking Soda, .5 tsp (remove)
    * Salt, .5 tsp (remove)
    * Butter, unsalted, 1 stick (remove)
    * Brown Sugar, 1.5 cup, packed (remove)
    * Apple Butter, .5 cup (remove)
    * Egg, fresh, 2 large (remove)
    * Vanilla Extract, 1 tsp (remove)
    * Semisweet chocolate, 1.5 cup chips (6 oz package) (remove)
    * Walnuts, 1 cup pieces or chips (remove)


Preheat oven to 375ยบ.

Mix flour, oats, cinnamon, baking soda, and salt.

Lightly beat the eggs (LIGHTLY - just enough to slightly mix white and yolk).

Melt butter in a saucepan, and allow to cool just slightly before adding the sugar.

Stir sugar and butter, and slowly add the apple butter, beaten eggs, and vanilla extract.

Briefly return to heat, stirring for about 30 seconds until smooth.

Remove from heat and add mixed dry ingredients.

Mix until dough is smooth and evenly mixed.

Stir in chocolate chips and nuts.

Cover the mixture, and refrigerate for an hour.

Prepare a couple baking sheets (or one and save half the dough.) Use non-stick spray or parchment paper to prevent sticking.

Evenly place small spoonfuls of dough on sheets.

Bake at 375 for 10-15 minutes.

Cool on a rack. Recipe yields about 40 cookies
