Ingredients

    1 can red kidney beans
    1 can white kidney beans
    1 can pork & Beans
4 oz each of lean ground turkey and beef
    2 stalk celery
    cup chopped onion
    2 cup chopped Green Peppers
    1 Garlic clove
2 Cans diced tomatoes or 2 cups fresh tomtoes (I use these in summer time)
1/2 can mushroom soup (optional for thicking & flavour)
    1 cup dced fresh mushrooms
    3 tbsp Chili powder
    1 cup frozen green beans
1 tsp hot pepper sauce (or more if desired)
Other spices I use often are cilantro and a pinch of ginger.

Directions

Dice all veggies and set aside
Brown Meat in light oil
Add all ingredients to the crockpot
Cook on low for 4 hours.
Note: If cooking on top of stove it would only take about 20 mins but you would have to constantly stir. Also you would put in the beans in the last 5 mins of cooking time.

    Very Good
I modified the recipe to use what I had on hand. Substituted red peppers & lima beans for the green peppers & green beans. No hot sauce, ground turkey, white beans or mushrooms. We loved it! Plenty left over. - 12/3/09

Makes a lot of chili. Mine came out a little sweet. I didn't add the hot sauce, but salt and peppered each serving to taste. Good meal for the family. Fun to make. - 10/5/09

This recipe sounds really good. I may try it with veggie crumbles. Now to eat it in moderation! - 9/9/08
