Introduction

This is how I make mostaccioli. It's not authentic, it doesn't have meat in it (but sometimes I add cannellini beans), and I fiddle with the sauce quite a bit. You can add meats, veggies, and/or use the sauce straight out of the jar. It's flexible. :) This is how I make mostaccioli. Ingredients

    1 Tbsp Olive oil
    1 tsp flour
1 jar spaghetti sauce (roughly 16oz)
    1/4 cup milk
1 16oz bag of penne pasta
6 to 8 thin slices of mozzarella or provolone

Directions

Put the water on to boil for the pasta.

Heat a sauce pan over low-medium heat. Add oil to skillet and then sprinkle flour into oil and mix forming a light paste (this helps thicken the sauce) before pouring the whole jar of sauce into the pan. Add milk and stir frequently over low heat while you cook the noodles.

Drain pasta when done, and place back in pot, adding sauce and mixing to coat.

Layer 1/2 of the pasta into casserole dish, cover with a layer of cheese. Repeat.

Serve.
