Ingredients

    3 cups white flour
    1 cup whole wheat flour
    1 pkg fast-rising yeast
    3/4 tsp salt
    1 1/4 cups hot tap water
    2 tbsp honey
    1 tbsp vegetable oil
    1 egg
    1 tbsp cold water
    2 tbsp sesame seeds
    1/2 tsp coarse salt (not listed in ingredients)

Directions

1. Measure cool water in small bowl & beat in egg.
2. In large mixing bowl, stir together 2 cups of the white flour, the whole wheat flour, yeast & salt.
3. Add hot water, honey & vegetable oil. Stir until combined. Add enough of the remaining white flour to make a soft dough.
4. Turn dough onto floured surface, knead for 5-7 minutes until dough is smooth & elastic.
5. Cut into 12 pieces. Roll each into 15-inch strip
6. Form pretzel shapes & place on greased baking sheet.
7. Brush with egg mixture & sprinkle with sesame seeds & coarse salt.
8. Bake at 425•F for 15-20 minutes.

Serve hot.
