Yummy Red Wine and Garlic Beef, perfect over white rice or couscous, Yummy Red Wine and Garlic Beef, perfect over white rice or couscous,

    200 grms Beef ( I use rump ), cubed
    One medium onion, chopped
    2 cups mushrooms, Chopped
    25 grms Bacon (no rind)
    2 glasses Red Wine
    2 Gloves garlic, crushed


Cube the beef into small cubes, cut the onion to your liking, cut the mushrooms to your liking, cut up bacon into small squares (making sure there is noe rind left on), crush or finely chop the garlic. Put all into caserole dish and mixed together, pour over the red wine and top up with water till the liquid is about a cm above the ingredients. Cook at 180C (350F) for about 1.5 - 2 hours or untill beef is tender. Serve over white rice or couscous. I love to drown my rice with the liquid or you can drain it.
Makes 4 servings.

    It was easy to throw these ingredients in a pan and bake while I worked out. I added extra garlic cloves and it smelled delicious. Both the boyfriend and I were fans. - 10/2/08
