Ingredients

FILLING
9 cups fresh blackberries
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup flour
3 tsp lemon juice
TOPPING
1 cup flour
1/4 cup sugar
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
3 T shortening
1/2 cup milk
Directions
Heat oven to 400 F. Grease an 8 x 13 or 9 x 13 pan. Combine ingredients for filling in a bowl, and then pour into the baking dish. Combine flour, sugar, and baking powder in another small bowl. Cut in shortening. Stir in milk. Drop dough by tablespoons over filling and bake at 400 F for 25-30 minutes or until topping is golden brown. (I usually lift one of the biscuits to see if the bottom is done.) Serve warm with vanilla ice cream and enjoy!
