Introduction

This is a recipe from my Mom's kitchen. I substituted the sugar and butter for splenda and margarine. It is super yummy! This is a recipe from my Mom's kitchen. I substituted the sugar and butter for splenda and margarine. It is super yummy!
Number of Servings: 6

Ingredients

    5-6 peeled and sliced medium apples
    1 C plus 3 T splenda
    2 T cinnamon spice
    1 C flour
    1 t. baking powder
    3/4 t salt
    1/2 cup chopped pecans (nutrition info calculated without pecans)
    1 egg
    1/3 C Margarine or Butter, melted

Directions

Preheat oven to 350. Spray 9" inch by 1 inch deep glass pan with non-stick cooking spray. Coat apples with 3 Tablespoons of splenda and cinnamon and layer in pan. Combine flour, splenda, baking powder, salt and optional pecans. Add unbeated egg. Mix with fork until crumbly. Sprinkle over top of apples. Pour melted butter over top and bake for approximately 40 minutes or until lightly browned.

Options: I had so many apples I had to use a 9x13 inch pan and double the topping.
