    1/2 cup melted margerine
    3/4 cup brown sugar
    2 large eggs, lightly beaten
    1 tsp vanilla extract
    2 large ripe bananas, mashed
    1 cup strawberries, cut up
    1 1/4 cup white flour
    1 cup whole wheat flour
    1 1/2 tsp baking powder
    1/4 tsp baking soda
    1 tsp ground cinnamon
    1/2 tsp salt


In a medium size bowl, whisk together the brown sugar, eggs, vanilla and banana. Add the melted margerine and stir.
In another large bowl, combine the flours, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon and salt. Gently fold in the berries making sure they are coated with flour (this helps prevent the berries from sinking during baking). Do not overmix or the strawberries will colour the batter red.
Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir just until mixed. Divide into 12 muffin cups. Bake at 350 F for 20 to 25 minutes.
