Introduction
This is a really good alternative to low carb diets. Tasty and delicious!! This is a really good alternative to low carb diets. Tasty and delicious!!Number of Servings: 4
Ingredients
-
1 cup ground turkey (lean)
3 tbsp onion powder or 1/4 cup of onion
1/3 cup dried cranberries
1/3 cup sliced almonds (unsalted/plain)
1/2 cup feta (Crumbled)
4-6 tbsp of light sesame or ginger salad dressing
1/2 head of iceberg lettuce or 2 green peppers hollowed and cut in half
Also remember the fat in this recipe comes from the almonds and cheese so it's considered a healthy fat.
If you want to improve the calories, try using unsweetened cranberries and find a ginger dressing that is low in calories.
If you want to really mix this recipe up try using a greek dressing for a different flavor.
Directions
Cook your turkey on medium with some onion powder or real onions until brown. Remove from stove.
In a seperate bowl mix cranberries, almonds, feta and dressing. Stirr in turkey until dressing is equally distributed, and surprise you have your leaf filler.
I like to wrap the mixture in lettuce leafs but I have tried filling a green peper half full of the mixture and it is quite tasty!
This recipe tastes the best when the mixture is still warm.
