Great comfort food for chilly nights. Great comfort food for chilly nights.
Number of Servings: 4

Ham, regular (11% fat), 1 cup, diced
Water, tap, 5 cup (8 fl oz)
    Leeks, 1 leek
    Egg Noodles, enriched, 6 oz
    salt to taste

The ingredients list diced ham because there wasn't a listing for the ham bone. After cubing and slicing a ham, I take the bone that I can never get all the meat off of and place it in a stock pot with the about 4-6 cups of water and a chopped leek.

Bring to a boil and simmer 2 1/2 hours (you may be forced to find an outdoor activity to do because the aroma has been known to have the following side effects: drooling and growling stomachs)

Once the meat starts falling off of the bone, remove all edible morsels and discard the bone. Add the tasty bits back to the broth (make sure and log in ALL the bites you snitch at this point!)

Just before you are ready to eat (or faint from hunger) add the noodles and allow to simmer for about 8 minutes until noodles are tender.

Recommended: Serve in fun soup bowl or mug while snuggled under a cozy blanket on the couch and your favorite movie on the tv.

Number of Servings: 4
