Ingredients

    4 lbs yellow onions
    1 stick butter
    1 cup wine
    4 T flour
    2 qts beef stock
    salt and pepper to taste

Directions

Chop onions and brown in 1 stick of buter in a large stock pot (about 30 min worth of cooking). Add wine and stir. When the liquid starts to disapate add flour, fold in. Add beef stock, salt and pepper and simmer on stove covered for up to 8 hours.
