Introduction
A delicious family favorite! A delicious family favorite!Number of Servings: 6
Ingredients
-
6 drumsticks (with skin and fat removed)
8 cups of Chicken broth (low sodium)
4 cups of water
1 medium onion, chopped
2 garlic cloves, pressed
2 bay leaves
1/2 cup of chopped parsley
1/2 cup of carrot
1 tbsp of celery seed
2 tbsp of lemon juice
2 ounces of egg noodles (or preferred noodle)
Directions
Combine chicken, broth, water, onion, and garlic in to a 8-qt pot. Cook on medium-high heat and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to a simmer for about 45 min and skim the fat occasionally.
Remove chicken and set aside to cool.
Add carrots, celery seed, and lemon juice. I add 12 ounces of egg noodles broken in half. But you can use several different types.
Once the chicken is cool enough to handle, remove the meat from the bones. Discard the bones and place the meat back into the pot. Be careful that you don't throw any bones into the pot!
Continue to cook until the noodles are al dente.
Enjoy!!
