Ingredients

    1 1/2 cup white flour
    1 1/2 cup graham flour
    1 cup brown sugar
    1 tsp. salt
    3 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. cinnamon (optional)
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg (optional)
    1 cup dates, pitted and chopped
    1 1/2 cup milk
    1 egg
    1 tsp. vanilla extract
    2 Tbs. butter, melted
    3/4 cup chopped nuts

Directions

{reheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease loaf pan.

Mix all dry ingredients. Mix dates in with the dry ingredients. Mix slightly beaten egg with millk and vanilla extract. Mix wet ingredients in with dry. Add nuts and butter. Mix.

Pour batter into loaf pan and bake for 50 to 60 minutes or until toothpick inserted into center comes out clean.

Slice and eat warm. Or toast slices the next day and spread with mascarpone to eat as a tea snack.
