Ingredients

    2 lbs extra-lean ground turkey
    1 1/3 tsp onion powder
    1 1/3 tsp minced garlic
    2 2/3 cups frozen seasoning vegetables, thawed and drained
    7 tbsp ketchup
    6 tsp tomato paste
    1 1/3 tsp cider vinegar
    2 2/3 tsp molasses
    1 1/3 tsp Worcestershire sauce
    1 1/3 tsp chili powder
    1/3 tsp paprika
    1 1/3 cups water
    6 whole wheat buns or whole wheat pita breads

Directions

Spray large nonstick skillet with cooking spray. Add ground turkey, onion powder, minced garlic, and seasoning vegetables to skillet. Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently, until turkey is browned and crumbled and vegetables are softened. Drain well. Spray inside of slow cooker with cooking spray. Combine ketchup, tomato paste, vinegar, molasses, Worcestershire sauce, chili powder, and paprika and mix well. Add turkey mixture, water, and sauce to slow cooker and mix well. Cover and cook on low heat for 6-8 hours or high heat for 3-4 hours. Serve on whole wheat buns or whole wheat pita breads.

  • Very Good
    This was pretty good. I don't have 1/3 tsp, so I rounded everything to 1/4. Also used 1 1/2 lbs of lean ground turkey and 1 C each of celery, onion, and carrot.

    Flavor pretty good, could use a little more seasonings though. Will make again - kids and hubby enjoyed.
