Ingredients

    3/4 cup pearl barley
    3/4 cup lentils
    1 med onion
    1 med red potato
    1 med carrot (9 baby carrots)
    2 tsp garlic
    1 can stewed tomato
    1 med yellow squash
    fresh spinach to taste
    salt
    pepper
    cumin
    32 oz chicken broth
    3-4 cups water (more if needed)

Directions

chop vegetables
add all ingredients to pot or cast iron skillet (for higher iron content)
boil over med heat until lentils are cooked.
