Number of Servings: 8


    1 cup Turkey Ham (or low fat ham) Chopped Fine
    1 large carrot Chopped Fine
    2 large stalks of celery chopped fine
    1/2 a large onion chopped fine
    2 cloves garlic chopped fine
    1 lb Split peas, cleaned of any stones
    fresh ground pepper and sea salt to taste
    10 -12 cups water
    2-4 bay leaves


Combine all ingredients in crock pot, cook on low over night or on high for approx 4 hours. If it gets too thick, add more water, if it isn't thick enough, cook on high for a little more time.
Don't forget to take the bay leaves out, or at least warn everyone they are in there!
This is a great one to freeze in individual servings.
