    1/2 cup white sugar
    2 peppermint candy canes, crushed

2. In a large glass or metal mixing bowl, beat egg whites, salt, and cream of tartar to soft peaks. Gradually add sugar, continuing to beat until whites form stiff peaks. Carefully fold in crushed candy canes and chocolate chips. Drop by spoonfuls 1 inch apart on the prepared cookie sheets.

This is similar to an old family recipe that has been around for over a hundred years. We call them "cloud cookies" because of how they look when they are finished. I love chocolate and mint but I have never tried it with mint. Our cookies consist of pecans and chocolate chips instead. Awesome Recip - 12/12/08

Made these yesterday and ate one this morning. So different and a great way to have a sweet snack w/o going overboad on cal/fat. Thanks! - 2/6/09

  • I really can't wait to try these. I LOVE anything peppermint and if it has chocolate, so much the better! I'm just wondering though about using peppermint extract in place of the candies. - 6/13/12
