    1/2 cup dairy free margarine
    1/2 cup sugar
    1/2 tsp vanilla extract
    1 large egg
    1 1/2 cups flour
    1/2 tsp salt

    1 cup slivered almonds
    2 large eggs
    1 cup minus 2 tbs sugar
    1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
    1/4 tsp salt
    1/4 tsp almond extract
    1 cup raspberry jam

    2/3 cup powdered sugar
    2 tbs orange juice


Preheat the oven to 375 and lightly spray a 9 x 9 inch baking pan.
For the base:
Cream together the margarine, sugar, and vanilla; beat in the egg until the batter is very fluffy.
Sift the flour and salt together and stir them in.
Spread the mixture in the sprayed pan, and bake for 10 minutes.
Prepare the filling:
Grind of finely chop the almonds.
Beat the eggs and sugar together until they are light and thick.
Beat in the cinnamon, salt, and almond extract.
Mix in the ground or chopped almonds.
Take the cookie base out of the oven after 10 minutes (it should be puffy but not brown), and spread it with the raspberry jam; keep away from the very edges of the pan.
Top with the almond mixture, spreading to the edges of the pan.
Bake for 25 minutes more.
Prepare the glaze:
Mix the powdered sugar and orange juice to make a thin glaze.
Spread over the cookies while they are still warm.
Once the cookies have cooled cut into bars.
I like to cut the pan into 36 small squares by cutting into 6 strips and then cutting each strip into 6 squares.
