Quck and easy soup that is thick and high in fiber and full of vegtables. Quck and easy soup that is thick and high in fiber and full of vegtables.
Number of Servings: 6


    1 pound lean ground beef
    1 1/2 cups dry lentils, rinsed
    1 cup chopped carrots
    1 cup chopped onion
    1 cup chopped celery
    3 cups beef stock
    1 teaspoon salt
    ground black pepper to taste
    6 cups tomato sauce
    1 dash Worcestershire sauce


Brown beef; break meat into small pieces while cooking. Drain. Saute onions, celery, carrots. Add meat and vegtables to large pot with lid. Add the rest of the ingredients. Cook until lentils are tender.

  • This is good but where is all that salt comming from? I used pork instead of beef. - 12/29/08

    I think it is because when I did the nutrition analysis, I had to plug in homemade beef stock into the food list because I couldn't find canned beef stock in the database and I didn't have any canned beef stock left that gave me nutrtion information so that I could add it to the database myself.
