Introduction

This is the recipe that my Mother made on a regular basis my whole childhood. Now I do it, but most of the time it's at Christmas time for my brother's who love it! Number of Servings: 20

Ingredients

    1/2 cup shortening
    1 cup white sugar
    2 eggs (well beaten)
    2 cups flour
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1/8 tsp. salt
    2 banana's, mashed
    1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Directions

Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs. Fold in flour, baking soda, and salt. Add bananas and nuts.
Bake in a large loaf pan for 45 minutes at 350 deg. or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Makes about 20 80-gram slices.

Serve in slices. Tastes wonderful with a little butter spread on the slice.
