Ingredients
-
* 1 Lb Ground turkey, 93% lean
* 1.5 cup, Quaker Oats - Quick 1 Minute - Dry,
* 1 Egg,
* 2 cloves Garlic (minced)
* 1 cup Onions, chopped
* Salt, 2 tsp
* Pepper, black, 1 tsp
*4 slices, Kraft 2% American Cheese Singles,
* 8 slices Bread, whole wheat (Toasted)
Directions
1. Grill onions and garlic until onions are translucent.
Put in a bowl and set aside to cool for about 5 minutes.
2. In a large bowl combine ground turkey, oats, egg, garlic, onion, salt and pepper. Mix until all ingredients are combined but not longer or meat mixture will be hard to work with, ( I use my hands)
3. Form 4 equal sized patties. In the center of each patty use your finger to make a hole about the size of a quarter. This ensures that the patties cook all the way through.
4. In a large frying pan grill the patties for about 5 minutes on each side. (I use butter flavored cooking spray rather than cooking oil to ensure that the patties don't stick) You will need to check that they are no longer pink inside and cooked all the way through.
5. While the patties are still in the pan, but are thoroughly cookd, place a slice of cheese on each patty to begin melting.
6. Toast the bread slices.
7. Serve the patties on the toast.
*You may want to add lettuce, tomatoes, mayo, mustard etc. to your burgers. This will add calories but is super yummy. I like to add light miracle whip, and avocado slices! It really is up to your imagination!
