    1 1/2 lbs. halibut steaks or other fish steaks
    1/4 cup chopped onion
    1 clove garlic minced
    2 Tbsp butter
    1 small tomato chopped (1/2 cup)
    1/3-1/2 cup dry white wine
    1 Tbsp snipped parsley
    1/2 tsp salt
    Dash pepper
    2 tsp cornstarch


In a skillet saute onion and garlic in butter for 5 minutes. Then add fish, tomato, wine, parsley, salt, and pepper. Cover; cook over low heat 10-12 minutes. Remove the fish and keep it warm. Blend milk and cornstarch and the blended mixture to the skillet. Cook and stir until the sauce becomes thick and bubbly. Cook for 1-2 minutes more. Pour the sauce over the fish and serve.
