Ingredients

    Fennel, 1 cup, sliced
    *Fennel seed, 1 tbsp
    1 clove garlic, chopped
    Onions, raw, 1 cup, chopped
Bread crumbs, dry, grated, seasoned, 1 cup
    Basil, 2 tbsp
    Oregano, ground, 1 tbsp
    Rosemary, dried, 1 tbsp
    Salt, 1 tsp
Fresh Ground Pepper, black, 1 tbsp
*Turkey, Ground turkey, 93% lean, 16 oz
Egg, fresh, 1 large (can use egg beaters)
Crushed Red Pepper, 1 serving (

Directions

In a skillet, use cooking spray and add onion, garlic and chopped fennel (anise). Cook until soft on medium heat, don't let burn.

In a bowl mix fennel mixture with the rest of the ingredients. With your hands mix up the mixture and make into balls. Add to a non stick 13X9 pan.

Bake at 350 for 40 minutes, can also stir fry them, but this is lower fat.

Best if added to a spaghetti sauce. Even better if you cook in sauce for at least 20 minutes to make them extra moist.

Makes about 8 large meatballs or 16 small.
