    Beef Stew Meat 2 lb
    *Flour, white, 1/2 cup
    Shortening 3 tbsp
    Onion-1 medium (2-1/2" dia)
    Garlic, 1 clove (remove)
    Bay Leafs- 2
    Salt- 1 tsp
    Granulated Sugar- 1 tsp
    Pepper (black) -1 tsp
    Paprika- 1/2 tsp.
    Lemon Juice- 1 tsp.
    Lea & Perrins, Worcestershire Sauce- 1 tsp
    Carrots, cooked, 3 carrots chopped
    Celery 2 stalks chopped
    beef bouillon consomme, (prepared with equal volume water, commercial) =2 cups+4 cups boiling water


Dredge meat in flour. Melt shortning in heavy skillet or dutch oven. Add beef cubes and saute until evenly browned. Don't allow meat to touch one another- Add onion and garlic, seasonings into 4 cups of boiling water and broth/consume )whatever base you used). Cover tightly and cook over low heat 2-3hours, until meat is tender. Add vegtables and continue cooking 30 minutes longer, until vegtables are tender.
