Ingredients

    1 1/2 lbs ground turkey
    1 large egg
    1/4 c plain bread crumbs
    2 TBSP ketchup
    2 TBSP milk
    1 tsp Italian seasoning
    1 tsp dehydrated minced onions

    3 TBSP light brown sugar
    7 TBSP ketcup

Directions

Preheat oven to 350.

Mix the first seven ingredients thoroughly in a mixing bowl. Place in an ungreased loaf pan or 8 inch square pan. Bake in the oven for 20 to 35 minutes. (depending on pan size)

While meatloaf is baking, combine last two ingredients (brown sugar and 7 TBSP ketchup). Remove meatloaf from oven and top with mixture. Return to oven and cook an additional 20 to 25 minutes.

**Tip - for easy portion sizing try baking in muffin pan. This will decrease your cooking time a little.**

Just like Mom used to make... only healthier! I used ground turkey breast to cut down a bit on the fat. I decided to go with the muffin pan suggestion, and it worked really well. The recipe made 6 meatloaf muffins. I ended up baking it for 35 minutes total. Yum! - 1/27/09

Love this, we always made it with beef but turkey is a great way to cut fat and calories. - 11/12/13

I don't know how this only has 23 reviews or how I haven't managed to review it yet! This has become a family staple. We have it a couple of times a month. Easy and delicious... and cheap! We also use real onions (happened accidentally when I ran out of minced). - 9/3/13

An absolute favorite in my house!! My picky boys gobbled it up and my hubby brought leftovers to work to share with a few people who then asked for the recipe. On our menu for this week! - 4/17/11

My husband loved this and said "it's a keeper." I did add fresh onions and substituted splenda brown sugar for the brown sugar. - 1/12/11

Fantastic! I also added some Worcestershire sauce and I used onion powder because I didn't have any dehydrated onions on hand. I bet the onions would be better. Will be on the staple list for sure. - 2/28/10

I am not a big fan of meatloaf however I was looking for an alternative to turkey spaghetti. Will definitely make this again! I added chopped green bell peppers and onions to the ground turkey. Instead of the ketchup,I used 6 tbsp of Ragu Tomato,Garlic, and Onion Sauce with the brown sugar topping. - 5/5/09

This was delicious! It's similar to a meatloaf recipe from BH&G that uses ground beef. I did make the following changes: Instead of dry bread crumbs I used 2 cups of soft; I added 1/2 tsp dry mustard to the topping; used 1 lb ground turkey breast and 1/2 lb turkey sausage. A definite keeper! - 4/7/09
