Introduction

I developed this recipe because I was cooking for someone with an allergy to raw and cooked onions (but not onion powder). I developed this recipe because I was cooking for someone with an allergy to raw and cooked onions (but not onion powder).

Ingredients

    1 tbsp olive oil
    1 tsp onion powder
    .5 tsp celery salt
    1 bay leaf
    Black pepper to taste
    4 cans great northern beans, rinsed
    2 cups chicken broth
    12 oz ham, diced
    3 small potatoes, peeled and diced

Directions

1. Heal olive oil in a pot and add garlic. Brown.
2. Add onion powder, celery salt, pepper, and bay leaf, and a splash of stock.
3. Add beans and potatoes and cover with stock.
4. Simmer for 30-60 minutes, until potatoes are tender.
5. (optional) Blend ~ 2 cups of soup until smooth., reintegrate into soup.
6. Add ham and cook for 10 more minutes.
