    1 lb dried split peas
    4 cups chicken broth
    4 cups water
    1/2 cup diced celery
    1/2 cup chopped onions
    5 baby carrots diced
    2 bay leaves
    1/2t salt
    1/4t pepper
    1t red pepper flakes
    1t thyme


In a large stockpot bring all ingredients to a boil. Simmer for 60-90 mins until peas are soft. Remove bay leaves, using a blender puree soup in small batches. Add 1/2 pound of diced ham and simmer until ham is heated through.
