    1 lbs. extra lean ground beef
    6 bell peppers
    2 cups cooked brown rice
    1 - 19 oz can of tomato sauce
    1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
    1/4 tsp garlic powder
    1/4 tsp onion powder
    1 tsp Italian seasoning
    1/2 cup water
    Salt & pepper to taste


1. Preheat oven to 350 F.
In a skillet cook ground beef over medium high heat until no longer pink. Set aside.
2. Meanwhile, remove and discard the tops, seeds, and membranes of the peppers. Arrange peppers in a 9x13 inch baking dish with the hollowed sides facing upward. (Slice the bottoms of the peppers if necessary so they will stand upright.)
4. In a bowl, mix the ground beef, rice, 1/2 can of tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, & pepper.
5. Spoon an equal amount of the mixture into each hollowed pepper.
6. Mix the remaining tomato sauce, water, & Italian seasonong in a bowl and pour over and around the stuffed peppers.
7. Bake 1 hour or until peppers are tender, basting with sauce every 15 minutes.

Makes 6 servings.

Instead of discarding the top and bottom pieces of the peppers, I cut them up and mixed it in with the meat mixture.
