    Thur dal-- 1 cup
    Mung dal--11/2 cups
    tamarind paste--1 tsp
    onion--1 medium
    tomatoes-1 cup
    carrot-1/2 cup
    potatoes--1/2 cup
    eggplant--1/2 cup


makes 8 servings with rice, idli and roti.

pressure cook Thur dal,mung dal,potatoes(diced small),tomatoes,carrots. In a pan season mustard and fry onion,green chillies(optional),fry the eggplants, add tamarind paste--1tsp,add little sambar powder(available in indian grocery store). when eggplant is half cooked add the pressure cooked dal and vegs. Add salt and water according to the taste.
