    2 onions, peeled and halved
    3 cups dry pinto beans, rinsed
    jalapeno pepper (chopped, or 4 oz can)
    4 TBSP minced garlic
    3 tsp salt
    1 tsp black pepper
    2 tsp ground cumin
    9 cups water


Throw everything in the slow cooker, pour in the water and stir to combine. Cook on high for about 8 hours. Once it's cooked, strain everything and reserve some of the liquid. Mash with a potato masher or process lightly in a blender adding liquid as needed to attain desired consistency. Enjoy!
