Introduction

This is a great side dish. Even those who say they don't like greens (my daughter) love this dish. It is a standard holiday vegetable at our table on the holidays. This is a great side dish. Even those who say they don't like greens (my daughter) love this dish. It is a standard holiday vegetable at our table on the holidays.
Number of Servings: 8

Ingredients

    3 slices bacon, diced
    1 medium head cabbage, chopped
    1 16 oz. pkg. frozen turnip greens with diced turnips
    1 10 oz. frozen chopped spinach
    dash of sugar (optional)

Directions

Fry out the diced bacon until crisp (set aside)
Cook chopped cabbage in bacon drippings. When translucent, add frozen turnip greens with diced turnips.

Once turnip greens are thawed and separated, add frozen chopped spinach. (I lay the block on top and stir until thawed.) Cook until all vegetables are cooked well. (If necessary, I add a little chicken broth. I don't always do this, as the vegetables provide plenty of liquid.)

Once the greens are cooked, add the bacon back and the sugar if desired.
