    .5 cup barley flakes
    2 cups large flake rolled oats, not quick or instant
    .25 cup flax seed
    .25 cup wheat germ
    .25 cup oat bran
    3 cups boiling water
    .25 cup raw unsalted almonds, coarsely chopped
    .25 cup sultana raisins
    .5 cup chopped, pitted dates
    Juice of one fresh orange (grate rind and reserve)
    .25 cup agave nectar or honey
    1 cup plain, nonfat yogurt
    .5 tsp groun cinnamon
    1 large crisp apple


makes 12 cups (12 servings?)
1. Place barley, oatmeal, flax seed, wheat germ, and oat bran in a medium- sized glass bowl. Mix well. to combine.
2. Pour boiling water over all and let sit overnight or until water completely absorbed.
3. Meanwhile, in another glass bowl, measure remaining ingredients. Mix well to combine.
4. Add wet grains to fruit mixture and mix well. Serve immediately or refridgerate. Muesli keeps well for about 4 days.

  • Good recipe. Thanks for sharing. I couldn't find the barley flakes so just left that ingredient out. However, didn't seem to matter. My husband and I added just a touch of Splenda and that sweetened more 'just enough.' By the way, I'm still trying to find a B&B recipe that's soupier-anyone know? - 8/26/09
