    1 1/2 T olive oil
    1 1/2 c chopped onion
    1 large red bell pepper, chopped
    4 garlic cloves
    1 lb lean ground beef
    3 T chili pwd
    1 tsp salt
    1 tsp dried oregano
    1/2 tsp pepper
    1 cup beef broth
    1 can crushed tomatoes
    6 oz lager beer
    2 canned chipotle chiles in adobo sauce, finely chopped
    1 T adobo sauce from chiles
    1 can corn kernels, or 1/2 lb frozed corn
    12 6 inch corn tortillas
    1 can refried beans


Heat oil in heavy deep saute pan over med heat. Add onion, peppers and garlic. Saute until tender. Add Ground beef and salt. Saute til beef is no longer pink. Add chili pwd, cumin, oregano and pepper. Saute 3 min. Add broth, tomatoes, beer, chipotle chiles and adobo sauce. Simmer uncovered until liquid reduces slightly, stirring occasionally, about 40 min. Add corn and simmer til mixture thickens slightly, about 10 min. Remove from heat. Cool.
Spread 2 tbsp beans over 6 tortillas. Arrange tortillas bean side up in 14 x 11 x 3 baking dish. Spoon 1/2 of chili over. Repeat. Top with cheese if desired. Bake 350 30 min.
