Number of Servings: 6

Ingredients

6 medium firm apples like granny smith
1.5 cup old fashioned rolled oats
    2 Tbsp brown sugar
1 tsp ground cinnamon according to your taste
    2 Tbsp unsalted butter
    3 tsp xylitol

Directions

Core and slice apples thinly leaving the peel on. Spray pan 8x11 or 9x13 with cooking spray- Glass works best metals can taint the flavor of baked apples. Spread apple slices evenly in bottom of dish and sprinkle with xylitol(or other sweetner, but calories are figured with xylitol). Mix together brown sugar, butter, and cinnamon with the oats and spread evenly over apples. Bake at 350 F for about 45-55 minutes until apples are tender and topping is crisp. Makes 6 servings.

    Incredible!

I've made this many times, so easy, healthful and yum! Today I decided to try something different so I made with nectarines. Just great, looking forward to a lovely dessert tonite! When I warm it up, I like to add a bit more butter, Kerrygold (grass fed). Better with butter, I always say :)

I don't have enough apples, so I'm going to try it with a mix of blueberries and cherries added to the 2 apples I have. Sounds yummy! I'll rate it in about an hour :) - 5/20/09
