    1 cup shortening
    1 cup granulated sugar
    1 cup brown sugar, packed
    2 eggs
    1 tsp vanilla
    3 cups quick cooking oats
    1 1/2 cups bread flour(it's all I had)
    1 tsp salt
    1 tsp baking soda
    1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
    1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
    1/2 cup milk chocolate chips
    1/2 cup raisins
    1 tbsp flax seed, ground


1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
2. In a med. bowl, whisk together the flour, oats, salt, baking soda, ground nutmet, and ground cinnamon; set aside.
3. In a large bowl, cream together the shortening and sugars with an electric mixer set on medium-high speed.
4. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
5. Beat in vanilla extract.
6. Gradually add the flour mixture to the shortening mixture. Beat until combined.
7. Drop by tablespoons 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheets.Flatten with fork.
8.Bake for 10-12 minutes or until lightly browned.Immediately transfer cookies to a cooling surface.
