    1.5 cups chickpeas, rinsed and drained (about 1 19oz can)
    1/2 tbsp tahini
    3 cloves garlic, crushed
    3 tbsp lime juice
    3 tbs olive oil
    1 tsp salt
    1 tsp black pepper


1. In a blender or food processor, blend the chickpeas coarsely. If you use a blender, do it in two batches, adding 1/4 cup water to each.

2. Add in the remaining ingredients and blend until it is the desired consistency.

3. Spices such as dill, chili powder, or cumin, or other flavour-items such as sundried tomatos, can be added to change the flavour.

Makes 6 1/3-cup servings.
