    1 teaspoon chipotle chile powder
    1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
    1 pound ground round
    Cooking spray
    4 (2-ounce) Kaiser rolls

    Tequila-Spiked Salsa
    This recipe goes with The Guadalajara

    2 cups chopped seeded tomato
    1 cup chopped onion
    1/2 cup chopped fresh cilantro
    1/3 cup chopped peeled avocado
    2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
    2 teaspoons tequila
    1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
    2 garlic cloves, minced


Salsa: Combine all ingredients in a bowl, tossing gently.

Yield: 3 cups (serving size: 1/3 cup)

Prepare grill.

Combine chile powder, salt, and beef. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions, shaping each portion into a 1/2-inch-thick patty.

Place patties on a grill rack coated with cooking spray; grill 5 minutes on each side or until done. Place rolls, cut sides down, on grill rack; grill 1 minute or until toasted. Place 1 patty on bottom half of each roll; top each serving with 1/3 cup Tequila-Spiked Salsa and top half of roll.

Totals include Tequila-Spiked Salsa.

  • Although my family does not like avacados, I made this and thought it was really tasty - I did add some chili powder and habanero sauce to give it a little extra kick - 7/25/07
