Introduction

I make this CONSTANTLY. I love this stuff! It's even greater the next day. It's high in sodium, so if you're watching that, take out the worcestershire and the seasonings (use fresh instead of powdered).

The Splenda cuts the acidity of the tomatoes - it's a taste thing for me.

Make sure you rinse the beans well - which will also cut some of the sodium. The recipe doesn't really let me edit that part, so either rinse very well or use dry beans from the start.

Ingredients

Extra Virgin Olive Oil, 2 tbsp
    Garlic, 3 cloves (diced)
    Onions, raw, 1/2 large (diced)

    Ground Turkey Breast, 16 oz
    Worcestershire Sauce, 2 tsp

Splenda No Calorie Sweetener, 3 packets
Pureed Tomatoes, 1.5 cans (29 oz)

    Canned Black Beans, (1 can)
Canned Chickpeas (garbanzo beans), (1 can)
Canned Dark Red Kidney Beans, (1 can)

    Garlic powder, 1 tbsp
Pepper, black, fresh ground 1 tbsp
Pepper, red or cayenne, 1 tbsp

Directions

Makes 10 servings (approx.)
1 cup = 1 serving

Heat a big saucepot on medium-high heat. Add olive oil, diced onion and diced garlic. Sautee until lightly browned.

Add ground turkey and worchestershire (if using). Stir and break apart the turkey as it's cooking. Continue until all turkey is in small chunks and lightly browned.

Add 1.5 (large) cans of crushed or pureed tomatoes and Splenda. Stir well to combine.

Drain and rinse thoroughly the three cans of beans. Add to the pot and mix well.

Add seasonings. You can add more or less as desired, or use fresh cayenne or jalepeno chili peppers for some heat.

Nutritional info is based on recipe as written - you may need to adjust for any changes you make.

Top with a little shredded cheddar and a couple tortilla chips (not too many, and read labels!) and enjoy the fiesta!

Note, the longer the chili simmers on the stove, the stronger the flavors get. Simmer on low for a while if you're not going to eat it right away.
