    Oats, 2 cups
    Wheat germ, crude, .75 cup
    Sunflower Seeds, without salt, .75 cup, hulled
    Flax seeds, 3 tbsp
    Almonds, .75 cup, slivered
    Brown Sugar, .5 cup, unpacked
    Honey, .5 cup
    *Earth Balance Natural Buttery Spread, 4 tbsp
    Vanilla Extract, 2 tsp
    Salt, .5 tsp
    Raisins, .33 cup, packed
    Peanut Butter, smooth style, .5 cup
    Pumpkin Seeds, .33 cup
    Cranberries, dried, sweetened (craisins), 0.66 cup


Preheat oven to 400°. Crush almonds in a bag with a rolling pin (or anything heavy.) Mix the almonds, oats, wheat germ, sunflower seeds, flax seeds, and pumpkin seeds in a baking dish with sides. Toast them in the oven for 10-12 minutes, stirring every few minutes so that they don’t get burned.
Meanwhile, prepare a glass baking dish (about 11 x 13 inches) for your granola by lining it with waxed paper lightly sprayed with a nonstick spray.

Put the brown sugar, honey, butter, vanilla, and salt, and peanut butter into a saucepan and bring to a simmer, stirring constantly.

Mix everything well (grains, liquid, dried fruit) together in a large bowl. Spread granola mixture evenly with a spatula into your prepared baking dish.

Fold over the sides of the waxed paper or add a sheet on top, and press hard all over the granola. You want to compact it together so that your bars won’t fall apart when you cut them.

Cool for 2-3 hours. Cut into 24 even pieces.
