    *Whole Wheat Flour, 4 cup
    cream of tartar, 4 tsp
    Baking Soda, 2 tsp
    Salt, 1 tsp
    *Shortening, Crisco, 8 tbsp
    Milk, nonfat, 1.5 cup


Mix dry ingredients. Add shortening and mix with pastry blender. Add milk all at once, and stir quickly with a fork.
Turn out on floured board and knead 5-6 times. Roll or pat to 1/2" to 3/4" thick. Cut with a biscuit cutter.
Bake at 475 degrees F. for 5 minutes.
Turnoff heat and leave in oven for 5-10 minutes until golden brown. makes 16-2in round biscuits.
