Introduction

This is one of the foods I make for my 23 lb 15 yr old dog. He eats two servings a day mixed with warm water. Does really well on this. This is one of the foods I make for my 23 lb 15 yr old dog. He eats two servings a day mixed with warm water. Does really well on this.

Ingredients

    Ground beef, 16 oz
    Beef liver, 16 oz
Carrots, raw, 3 large (7-1/4" to 8-1/2" long)
Beets, fresh, 2 beet (2" dia)
    Kale, 3 cup, chopped
Red Star, Nutritional Yeast, Vegetarian Support Formula, 4 Tbspn
    *Lard, 4 tbsp
    Collards, 2 cup, chopped
*Brown Rice, medium grain, 3 cup
    Beet greens, fresh, 1 cup

Directions

Soak the rice overnight in warm water with a tablespoon of vinegar or kefir mixed in. Bring to boil then lower to simmer until all water is absorbed. Chop carrots and beets in food processor. Chop greens finely. Scoup out hot rice onto greens and let sit to lightly cook the greans. Add to large bowl and cut up liver into bowl along with ground beef (I use pastured meat for this). Stir in lard or beef tallow and nutritional yeast. Portion into pint plastic containers, will fill about 8, and freeze. Each pint is about 4 servings so this recipe makes 32 servings. I feed a 23 lb dog two servings a day , thaw the day before you need this.
