    1/2 cup butter
    1 cup sugar
    1 slightly beaten egg
    1 cup sorghum
    3-1/2 cups sifted flour
    1/4 tsp nutmeg
    1/4 tsp cinnamon
    1 tsp baking powder
    1 tsp baking soda
    1 cup sour milk


Grease and flour a 13x9 inch cake pan. Preheat oven to 325 degrees.

Cream together butter and sugar. Slowly add slightly beaten egg and sorghum. Beat mixture well. Sift all the dry ingredients together. Alternately add dry ingredients and the milk to the creamed mixture. When all ingredients are added, beat well. Pour batter into prepared pan and bake about 40-45 minutes, or until cake tests done. (This cake can also be baked in a bread pan or bundt cake pan. In such a case, increase baking time to one hour.)

Cool cake completely. Sift powdered sugar over the top, and enjoy!
