Crockpot recipe. I "invented" this with NO saltpork or lard, in search of a lower sodium/fat "refried" bean --- and DH loved it! Crockpot recipe. I "invented" this with NO saltpork or lard, in search of a lower sodium/fat "refried" bean --- and DH loved it!
Number of Servings: 16

Ingredients

    Pinto Beans, Great Value, Dry, 3 cup (remove)
    Green Chili Peppers, diced, 16 tbsp (remove)
    Herdez CARSERA Hot Salsa, 28 tbsp (remove)
    Chopped Garlic, 9 tsp (remove)
    White Onion, Raw, 1.5 cup (remove)
    Great Value, Sliced Jalapenos, 0.5 cup (remove)

Directions

Soak beans all day - rinse and drain well.
put beans in crockpot with +2" to cover. Cook in crockpot on low overnight. Take about 1/2, puree in food processor, mash remainder coarsly. Add remainder ingredients (I pureed mine). Cook all day on low.
Serving size about 3/4 cup.
