    4 cups flour
    2 sticks crisco butter flavor shortening (or 2 cups butter)
    2 cups sugar
    2/3s cup slivered or sliced almonds
    8 eggs
    1 cup orange juice
    1 tsp vanilla extract
    1 tsp orange extract
    zest of 2 oranges


cream crisco and sugar for about 2 minutes
add eggs one by one and beat well
add vanilla and almond extract
add flour and blend
add orange juice and zest
blend well

pour into prepared loaf tins or bundt pans
bake at 400 for about 40 minutes

remove from oven and cool slightly
remove from pans and leave covered

Could be served with a glaze made from orange juice and confectioner's sugar or some grand mariner or triple sec and confectioner's sugar

Makes 3 loaves tht serve 12 each - recipe can easily be halved..
