Ingredients

    1 cup brown rice, rinsed and drained
    3 1/2 cups chicken broth
    4 cups fresh broccoli, chopped fine
    1/4 cup grated parmesan
    1 tsp each garlic powder, onion powder and black pepper
    1/2 tsp salt


Directions

1. Add chicken broth and rice to a large, heavy saucepan and bring to a boil.
2. Add broccoli, spices and salt to pan. Stir, cover and simmer on low heat until rice is tender, approximately 45 minutes.
3, Remove from heat and let sit for 10 minutes. Add parmesan and fluff with a fork until cheese is thoroughly incorporated.
