    8 oz SR flour
    2oz Butter
    1 tsp Baking powder
    pinch of salt
    1 egg beaten
    2fl oz milk

    carrots turnip onion peppers
    parsnips mushrooms sweet potatoe all chopped
    Stock cubes 2

    2 carrots peeledand chopped
    1 smalll white turnip chopped
    1 lrg onion peeled and chopped
    2 peppers peeled and chopped
    8 mushrooms chopped in to 4
    1 sweet potatoe peeled and chopped
    1pint of veg stock


Put all veg and stock cubes in a pan with a pt of water bring to the boil and simmer until veg is tender
Mean while rub butter into flour with Baking powder.
Beat egg and milk add to flour and mix well to a soft dough.
Put cooked veg in to ovenproof dish add rounds of dough to the edge of dish overlapping brush with a little milk and bake in a hot oven gas mark 6 or 200c until golden and topping has risen
serve hot .
