Number of Servings: 60


    12 eggs
    1 cup oil
    1 tbs. flavoring (lemon or orange)
    2 tsp. lemon or orange rind
    1 1/2 cups sugar
    1/2 cup milk
    12 tsp. baking powder
    pinch or salt
    6 - 10 cups flour


Beat eggs with a pinch of salt. Add all ingredients except flour. Mix. Add 6 cups of flour and mix. Keep adding flour until dough is the right consistency (starts to pull away from sides of bowl). Divide into 3 parts. Stretch each part into a long roll 12 - 16" long. Braid the pieces pinch at ends. Leave as long loaf or pinch ends together to form a circle. Brush with a mixture of 1 egg and 1 - 2 tbs milk. Place raw eggs (colored to be more festive) between folds of dough.
Place in oven at 350 degrees until bread starts to rise then turn it down to 325 for about 45 minutes or until golden brown.

Makes 50 - 60 servings.
